So I'm going to make this short but, on Sunday, Peyton Hillis became the first white running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since Craig James did it in 1985 with the New England Patriots. He now has 1,070 yards on the year. I found this neat little stat earlier tonight. Since James became the last white running back to have a 1,000 yard season, there have been 338 other individual 1,000 yard seasons for running backs. Here's how they broke down by year.

What is there to conclude? Nothing that we didn't already know. The running back position is dominated by African Americans and white running backs in this day and age are rare. And Hillis is very good, likely on his way to the Pro Bowl. Does any of this matter at all? No. It's just kinda interesting to see.
